Giovanni has an undergraduate degree in Business Management from the University of Nottingham and is currently studying towards the IMC (Investment Management Certificate) qualification. When not reading about the latest developments in the investment world, Giovanni can be found working on one of his music production projects or watching an AC Milan football match.
Which famous person would you most like to swap places with for the day?
Bill Gates. Living a day as one of the main investors and technologists on the planet would surely be a fascinating experience and would provide me with invaluable insights and advice which could last me for a lifetime.
What book should everybody read in their lifetime?
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. This book captured me from my first read for its profound story. It’s a thought-provoking journey lived through the eyes of Amir, a story about redemption, survival, loyalty and friendship.
Active or passive?
Active. I’m deeply intrigued by how in an extremely dynamic environment such as the equities market, fund managers build their philosophies, strategies and reputations while involved in the never-ending quest for alpha.
Who is your favourite fund manager?
Nick Train. The combination of his natural charisma, intuition and coherent investment philosophy has proven extremely successful and has helped consolidate his figure as one of the most renowned fund managers.
What sector do you find the most interesting?
Asian equities. As the centre of economic gravity shifts east at a swift pace, Asian equities dictate their increasing importance on a global scale and become progressively more influential in a macro context.
